What are the Jobs of Different types of Nurses?

Nursing is among the most demanding career sectors. Although all nurses perform similar sorts of jobs, nurses are split into differing types. Nurses work in hospitals, nursing home settings and even in private homes. There are wide ranges of career opportunities for nurses.



Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)



Certified Nursing Assistants, also known as nursing aides are the assistants to Registered Nurses (RNs). CNAs help the patients in their day-to-day living jobs under the supervision of RNs. They work in hospitals, nursing houses and even in houses as private health assistant. They are the key person of the patients because they look after all the healthcare need of the patients and they're closely interacted with them. In the event of change in health condition of patient, they have to report to nurses. Students interested to become a CNA first need to join accredited CNA schools, either online or standard colleges.



Registered Nurse (RN)



Registered Nurses comprise the biggest group in healthcare sector. Their job consists of supplying medicinal therapies, reporting patients and their family regarding the health problem and giving emotional support to patients and their family. RNs may also concentrate on particular areas. The duty of RNs also includes supervising license practicing nurses and nursing assistants.



Public Health Nurse (PHN)



RNs when they concentrate on community health training, they are called Public Health Nurse (PHN). PHNs often travel to community health concerns, hospitals, schools. Their works are concerned with community health.



Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)



LPNs work under the observation of RNs and they occasionally guide CNAs. They've got more trainings than CNAs. They take patients' vital signs, prepare and give injections and provide other bedside care for patients. They sometimes perform routine lab tests and observe treatment reports.



Midwife Nurse



RNs who've done additional specialised education in nurse midwifery are referred to as Midwife Nurse. They offer gynecological care to pregnant women, including pre-natal care, delivery, and child care after birth and plenty more.



Home Health Nurse (HHN)



RNS who work in patient's home are known as HHNs. Their job is to care for patients who can't leave home and also instruct patient's family about healthy living. Home Health Nurses care for patients recovering from illness, injured by accidents, old aged and many varieties of patients.
